BRENDA JOYCE PATE, who was affectionately known as "BA", was born December 6, 1948 to the late Rosalie Sims and Joshua Butler.
She was educated in the Philadelphia public school system.
Brenda was employed at Misericordia Hospital in the Cardiology Department for over 20 years. She loved to listen to music, especially the oldies any time she could get to Atlantic City, she was there. One of her favorite things to do was watch Family Feud and listen to Joel Osteen.
Spending time with her family at cookouts and parties was a THING for her, she loved her family.
The complex where she lived everyone loved her she made many, many friends, whereas though she even considers them her family.
In 1982, Brenda met Nicholas Pate whom she married in 1988. For over 35 years they were inseparable, she loved her CHEEK.
She leaves to cherish: her husband, Nicholas (Nicky) Pate; her three children, Tanya M. Sims, Eric V. (Monae) Sims and Antoinette C. Sims; six grandchildren, Brendan, Zyaire, Ira, Erica, Jonea and Tyrone; ten great-grandchildren, Zyniviah, I'mage, Zion, Carly, Peyton, Brendan Jr., Raine, Riley, Autumn and Blake; her two sisters, Janice Sims and Rosalie Sims-Peterson (Tyrone); two brothers, Carl M. Sims and Mark A. Butler; her mother-in-law, Rosalyn Lloyd; six brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Brenda had a very special bond with her niece, Romaine Brenda Sims and also with her great nephew, Tyhee E. Blair.
In Brenda's final days it was her great niece, Brittany K. C. Ellerbee, who was her caretaker and companion.
