Bernadette
Davis
Jan 14, 1978 — Mar 5, 2024
The Obituary
BERNADETTE ANN DAVIS was born on January 14, 1978, in Philadelphia, PA to Henry Ishmael Blakely and the late Betty Jean Davis. Bern aka Mookie, as she was fondly called by family and friends, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA.
At a young age, Bernadette accepted the Lord and remained a faithful servant of Jesus Christ all her life. Bernadette was educated in the Philadelphia School System through elementary, middle, and high school. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1996 with high honors. Along with being a scholar, Bernadette ran track and played volleyball throughout middle and high school.
Bernadette had a love for caring and nurturing people back to good health. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she took great pride in aiding residents and patients alike, ensuring she left a smile on the faces of those in her care. Bernadette continued her career as a manager with Project Home where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the residents. Bernadette always had a kind word to share and a smile that lit up the room. She was a "natural nurturer"; always paying special attention to the needs of others and offering a helping hand to meet those needs.
Bernadette had a love for music, playing cards (especially spades) and spending time with family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children that were the apple of her eye: two sons, Joseph Fletcher and Jahaad Davis Alexander; two daughters, Jamiyah Fletcher and Sanaa Davis Johnson; fiancé Delmar Alexander; father, Henry Ishmael Blakely; stepmother, Yvette Blakely; one sister, Anterine Maple; one brother, Imeen Blakely; uncle, Chris Davis; special friends, Cheryl Jones and Novalette Tyler; sister-in-love, Anita Womack; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
