Barbara Ann McKinney was born July 21, 1955, to the late Mark McKinney Jr and Carrie McKinney in Philadelphia, PA. She departed this life on Friday, April 12, 2024, at home in Maryland surrounded by her daughter Hope and her grandchildren.

She was educated in Philadelphia public school district and graduated from Overbrook High School.

She met and married Harvey (Arthur) Stewart and through the union they had one daughter Hope. After separating, she had two children, first Renata and later Reginald.

Barbara worked a range of different professions from care taking to airport transportation, and later in life, she enjoyed being an entrepreneur and designing gift baskets.

Barbara Ann will be remembered as a strong, assertive, and compassionate woman. She made sure to be the life of every party and lit up the rooms she entered. She was a true adventurer at heart and had a fondness for exploring new places. Her spirit was certainly unmatched, and her personality was loved by many.

She was preceded in death by her father Mark, sister Gail, and Godmother Lorelei.

She leaves to mourn her mother, Carrie; three children Hope, Renata, and Reginald; one brother Mark III; five grandchildren Destiny, Denee, D'Andre, Raven, and D'laysa; one great grandchild Jessiah, loving friend Michael, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
