Alfonzo Barriner was born in Philadelphia PA on March 19, 1963, to his late mother Johnny Bell Barriner and Father Joseph Barriner. He was the youngest of five siblings. Alfonzo attended and graduated from Thomas Edison high school where he received his high school diploma. Alfonzo then enlisted to join the United States Army in which he excelled at becoming a marksman at using the M-16 rifle and an expert at throwing live grenades. During his time in the army Alfonzo was awarded various medals and badges which included the General Thomas R. White medal, the army reserve component achievement medal, one Oakleaf cluster, one Armed Forces reserve medal, one national defense medal, a M 16 SS oval badge as well as an army service ribbon.
Alfonzo was an outdoorsman he was an avid fisherman. He loved to go fishing with his two sons Alfonzo and Joseph that brought joy to his life, rather it be in the middle of the ocean or on land. Pop always had an adventurous plan. Alfonzo was an extremely gentle and kind man to his family and friends whenever one needed help. He would always without hesitation lend a helping hand. He was a servant, and willing worker of the Lord. Alfonzo was great at so many things he was a well versed all around great person.
Alfonzo was employed as a sanitation worker for over 10 years as well as a hospital cook at Temple Hospital. He also was a driver; he knew the city of Philadelphia like the back of his hand. Alfonzo loved spending time on the blue waters with his loving sons Alfonzo and Joseph. Alfonzo shared many special moments with all his friends at the fresh grocer market in North Philadelphia. Alfonzo touched so many people hearts as a loved driver of Philadelphia.
Alfonzo leaves behind his loving partner of 18 years Tiyas Davis, his two sons Alfonzo and Joseph, one daughter Chauncey his granddaughters, Aleah, Aubre, Alana, Lux, & Lennox. His one grandson son Joel, his two daughters in law, Kearra and Nakia. Alfonzo leaves behind two brothers Quinton and Bob and a host of nieces and nephews.
