Addie J. Evans was born in Grady County, Georgia on November 6, 1936, to

the late Lillie Mae (Hunley) and Kater P. Borden. She was the 5 th oldest of 8

children. Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, gently closed the eyes of our

beloved Grandmother, Sister and Aunt on Thursday, February 6, 2025, and

she entered into her eternal rest. Her three sisters, Carrie Evans, Hazel B.

Mills and Easter Mae, and two brothers; Eugene Borden and Samuel Borden,

preceded her in death.

Tilly, as she was fondly known, received her education in Grady County, GA.

After leaving Georgia she traveled to Philadelphia where she met and married

Caesar L. Evans and God Blessed them with one daughter, Yvonne J. Evans,

both proceeded her in death.

Tilly was very family oriented. She lovingly cared for her grandsons Allen and

Bobby to the end. Despite her illness, she was always pleasant and willing to

share a joke or funny story. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist

Church and served as a member of the Willing Hands Workers. Tilly, loved to

cook. She, along with her sister Carrie, are fondly known for their delicious

cakes and baked goods.

Tilly retired from Pennsylvania Hospital of Philadelphia as a nurse after many

years of loyal service.

She leaves to cherish her memory one sister: Dorothy Jackson, Atlanta,

Georgia; one brother Albert C. Borden (Tammy), Philadelphia, PA; one sister-

in-law Mary Bordon; her devoted nephew Terell Borden; cousin Constella

Mills; sister-in-law, Rosa Lamb of Macon, GA; bother-in law, Ernest Evans of

Philadelphia, PA; Goddaughter Karen Hill, extended family members Marthea

Brown and Jackie Crews; a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends

too numerous to name.
